With the support of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI), BEEAH Group and LOHUM, a leading eco-friendly battery materials producer specialising in lithium-ion battery recycling and reuse, announced the establishment of a recycling plant for end-of-life batteries from electric vehicles (EVs). The first-of-its-kind in the UAE, the plant contributes to the UAE’s drive to become a global hub for sustainable mobility and enhance the national economy.

Dubai’s Drydocks World launches hybrid battery retrofits for small vessels in sustainability ride
Drydocks World is retrofitting one of its own harbour tugs with a new generation of battery technology, and one which will give it enhanced capacity. Once complete, Drydocks World plans to ‘explore opportunities’ to retrofit external client vessels, such as yachts and leisure craft. The company operates a massive ship-building and fabrication infrastructure at Mina Rashid in Dubai.
