The International Federation of Corporate Football (FIFCO) has announced that Abu Dhabi will be the host city for the fifth edition of the FIFCO World Corporate Champions Cup. The tournament, supported by the Abu Dhabi Convention and Exhibition Bureau, a part of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, will take place from November 3rd to 5th.
FIFCO, the world governing body for corporate football headquartered in Montreal, Canada, has committed to a three-year program that aims to expand the Corporate Champions Cup series of tournaments in Abu Dhabi
Albert Zbily, President of FIFCO, expressed delight in having their premier tournament hosted in Abu Dhabi, stating that it provides an excellent opportunity to showcase the cultural aspects of this world-class city.
The three-day tournament will be held at the Al-Forsan International Sports Resort and will feature employee-athletes from 16 companies representing 16 countries. This annual football event aims to highlight the importance of employee engagement in maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Participating companies range from large state-owned enterprises to IT startups, and the tournament allows team members to network with employees from other companies during the 5v5 football matches.
Bahi Rifai, President of High Five Events, praised the unique concept of FIFCO, emphasizing that it brings together employees from various countries under one roof in the name of football. He described it as an opportunity to play the game they love while networking with different business leaders.
The tournament is open to the general public, who are encouraged to attend and support these employee-athletes as they compete for the title of the next World Corporate Champion.
