Dubai’s Drydocks World launches hybrid battery retrofits for small vessels in sustainability ride

Drydocks World is retrofitting one of its own harbour tugs with a new generation of battery technology, and one which will give it enhanced capacity. Once complete, Drydocks World plans to ‘explore opportunities’ to retrofit external client vessels, such as yachts and leisure craft. The company operates a massive ship-building and fabrication infrastructure at Mina Rashid in Dubai.

50% discount on traffic fines in Umm Al Qaiwain

In advance of the 52nd UAE Union Day celebrations, Umm Al Qaiwain authorities have introduced a 50% reduction on traffic fines incurred within the emirate. This initiative, implemented by the Umm Al Qaiwain Police General Command, extends the discount to all types of traffic violations committed in the emirate prior to November 1, 2023.
