Dubai launches public reporting platform to combat economic crimes

His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Border Security Council, has today unveiled a platform that allows the public to report economic crimes. The objective of this initiative is to encourage community involvement in identifying and reporting such crimes, as they have detrimental effects on the wider community, the business sector, and the national economy as a whole.

The launch event took place during the second edition of the Al Ameen Forum, which commenced on Monday at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library (MBRL) under the theme ‘Security as the Pillar of the Modern Economy … The Fourth Industrial Revolution’.

His Highness expressed his appreciation for all efforts aimed at strengthening security systems to protect the economies of Dubai and the UAE. He emphasized the importance of increased community participation in safeguarding the national economy, as it would reinforce existing mechanisms to combat economic crimes.

Furthermore, His Highness highlighted the significance of being constantly prepared to address challenges that may hinder the benefits of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and digital transformation. He underscored Dubai’s commitment to eliminating any potential disruptions to growth and development.

His Highness also emphasized Dubai’s dedication to maintaining the highest standards and international best practices in economic security, in line with its status as a global business and financial hub. This commitment ensures the utmost protection for Dubai’s unique development model, which fosters business growth and robust public-private partnerships.
