Emirates extends a warm invitation to UAE nationals to join its prestigious Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License (AMEL) Scholarship Programme. This esteemed programme, currently accepting applications, offers a pathway to various positions within the Emirates Group’s aircraft maintenance departments.

They will be granted the unique privilege of becoming a Licensed Aircraft Engineer for Emirates, a renowned global airline and a leader in commercial aviation equipped with state-of-the-art technology.
The Emirates Group is particularly interested in attracting students who possess a genuine passion for aviation, engineering, or possess a natural inclination towards tinkering with gadgets and fixing machinery. Such individuals are likely to possess the aptitude required for a successful career in engineering.
Since its inception in 1989, the AMEL Scholarship Programme has played a pivotal role in integrating Emiratis into Emirates’ esteemed engineering division. Through this programme, participants gain access to comprehensive courses and invaluable hands-on experience, enabling them to make significant contributions to the organization and its operations. To date, over 800 Emiratis have successfully graduated from the programme, assuming key roles as skilled aircraft technicians and managers within Emirates’ Engineering Facilities.The AMEL programme, fully sponsored by the Emirates Group, will be conducted in two phases over a period of five and a half years. Throughout this duration, trainees will undergo comprehensive theoretical and practical training. Initially, they will receive a stipend, which will later progress to a full salary and benefits package. Upon successful completion of the programme, graduates will be awarded a GCAA certificate from the Emirates Engineering Training College and a Higher Diploma from Emirates Aviation University, both attested by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA).
As part of the programme, candidates will gain practical experience by working on aircraft, enabling them to acquire firsthand knowledge in maintaining Emirates’ wide-body fleet of Airbus A380s and Boeing 777s. Under the guidance of experienced instructors from Emirates, the programme will equip Emiratis with technical expertise and essential soft skills, enabling them to excel in the workplace and fully develop their capabilities.
Emirates Engineering, renowned as one of the world’s most technologically advanced aircraft maintenance facilities, provides support for Emirates’ extensive fleet of Airbus and Boeing aircraft. Additionally, the facility extends its services to thirty other airlines through third-party maintenance contracts. Emirates Engineering sets high industry standards, as its fully qualified employees manage and implement all aspects of maintenance, engineering, quality, planning, and logistics.
