The third edition of the Global Media Congress, taking place in Abu Dhabi from 26th to 28th November, will host a series of innovative media labs to tackle key issues shaping the global media industry in 2024 and beyond.
Over the Congress’ three days, these labs will host strategic dialogues and in-depth discussions exploring the current and emerging topics defining the media landscape today to shape the future of the industry.
The first day will spotlight significant topics in the media labs, including Investigative Journalism, where experts will discuss future trends and strategies to overcome prevailing challenges. Additionally, a session on Artificial Intelligence (AI) will examine the potential of applying the EU AI Act as a global regulatory model.
On the second day, the Middle East media lab will focus on building regional media to enhance global narratives, alongside a panel discussion on climate action to explore the role of evolving media in addressing this urgent crisis with worldwide ramifications.
The Congress’ final day will feature sessions on International Affairs, addressing urgent news events and their broad impacts, as well as a session on social work, examining the role of literature in the pursuit of social justice.
Bringing together leaders, operators and innovators from across the global media spectrum, these 60-minute roundtable discussions will examine the challenges and opportunities facing industry players. These exclusive closed-door discussions require pre-registration for attendance.
The media labs are among seven main platforms in the congress’s packed programme, which includes representatives from government, media and academia, with an esteemed lineup of speakers and panels exploring the future of global media.
