On behalf of Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Sheikha Alyazia bint Saif participates in the ‘United for Peace in Palestine’ meeting hosted by Türkiye

On behalf of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, “the Mother of the Nation”, H.H. Sheikha Alyazia bint Saif bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, wife of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated in the “United for Peace in Palestine” meeting, hosted by Emine Erdoğan, wife of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of the Republic of Türkiye.
During a speech, on behalf of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, H.H. Sheikha Alyazia bint Saif expressed her appreciation to Emine Erdoğan for organising this important conference. H.H. highlighted the significant role of the meeting in urging the international community to immediately adopt measures to end the ongoing war, which has been continuing for more than a month . H.H. Sheikha Alyazia bint Saif also reaffirmed the historic bilateral relations between the UAE and Türkiye, and the keenness of both nations to collaborate in various sectors.
H.H. Sheikha Alyazia bint Saif highlighted that following the outbreak of the crisis, the UAE began diplomatic efforts at all levels aimed at de-escalation and restoring peace, with a primary focus on preventing further loss of life and safeguarding the lives of civilians.
H.H. said: “Since the first day of the war, the UAE has affirmed that the country’s priority is to safeguard civilians according to international humanitarian law, including international treaties that protect civilians and human rights, as well as the need to ensure that they are not targeted during conflict.”
H.H. Sheikha Alyazia bint Saif stressed the necessity of providing humanitarian support to address the challenging conditions in Gaza, reiterating that the immediate priority is to preserve the lives of civilians and ensure the immediate, safe, sustainable, and unhindered delivery of humanitarian, relief and medical aid.
H.H. emphasised that as part of the UAE’s historical commitment towards the Palestinian people, the country and its wise leadership continue to provide urgent humanitarian aid and supplies to the Gaza Strip. In this regard, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President, issued a directive on October 10th, to allocate an urgent humanitarian aid package of USD 20 million. On November 1st, His Highness also directed the provision of treatment for 1,000 Palestinian children accompanied by their families from the Gaza Strip, to provide them with the necessary medical care in the country’s hospitals, and ensure they are fully recovered prior to their safe return home.
H.H. Sheikha Alyazia bint Saif added: “Following the directives of His Highness to establish an integrated field hospital inside the Gaza Strip, the UAE dispatched equipment and supplies for the hospital via an air bridge to El-Arish city in Egypt as part of the ‘Gallant Knight 3’ humanitarian operation. This operation aligns with the UAE’s endeavors to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people and support the health system in Gaza. The UAE has also sent 46 planes carrying 1,360 tonnes of food, medical, and relief supplies, in coordination with international organisations such as the UN World Food Programme.”
H.H. emphasised that the UAE’s efforts have stressed for the provision of humanitarian aid within the UN Security Council and international fora, and also extended to all segments of UAE society engaging with the “Tarahum for Gaza” campaign, launched on October 13th , to provide relief for the people impacted by the ongoing crisis, which reflects the UAE community’s historical ties with the Palestinians. The campaign has witnessed the participation of more than 24,000 volunteers who contributed to the preparation of 71,000 relief packages through events that were organised in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and Ajman, along with the participation of 20 charitable and humanitarian institutions.
H.H. stated that the UAE will steadfastly continue to call for rationality and diplomacy to prevail, to urgently end the war. She stressed that the UAE is extending its hand to cooperate with all countries and entities in the humanitarian field to provide aid to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people, particularly the most vulnerable groups, including women and children, which reflects the solid foundations of the UAE community and the country’s values.
