Our Armed Forces are nation’s shield and sword: Tahnoun bin Zayed

H.H. Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Adviser, highlighted the 48th anniversary of the unification of the Armed Forces as a pivotal moment in the UAE’s history.

“Under the UAE’s wise leadership, the Armed Forces have dedicated themselves to ensuring the nation’s prosperity and pride, serving as its shield and sword,” he said.

On this national occasion, Sheikh Tahnoun emphasised the significance of 6th May 1976, when the Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his fellow rulers unified the Armed Forces, laying the foundation for the Union State.

He extended gratitude to President and Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, for their unwavering support, ensuring the Armed Forces remain equipped with cutting-edge technology.

Furthermore, Sheikh Tahnoun praised the Armed Forces’ multifaceted contributions to the UAE’s development and humanitarian efforts, underscoring their role in safeguarding the nation’s achievements and borders while advancing its progress.

H.H. Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed expressed confidence in the UAE’s continued security, stability, and prosperity under the guidance of its wise leadership.
