During a media briefing, the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and the Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department (SRERD) announced the details of the new edition of Sharjah Real Estate Exhibition – “ACRES 2024”, which is being held under the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, between January 17th to 20th, at Expo Centre Sharjah.
“ACRES” represents a distinguished platform for companies and developers operating in the real estate sector to promote their new projects, and a great opportunity to meet different segments of interested people and investors who wish to explore investment opportunities. In addition, it reflects the sharp real estate growth, which is due to the economic initiatives and incentives provided by the UAE government targeting residents who wish to reside, work, and invest in the country as a preferred safe and stable global destination.
372 projects from inside and outside the UAE
During this briefing, the organizing committee announced the participation of more than 372 new real estate projects from inside and outside the country, including real estate projects from the UAE, the Sultanate of Oman, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Georgia, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and Turkey. Moreover, the exhibition exclusively includes offers presented by major participating real estate developers.
Exhibition space increased by 60% compared to last year
In addition, it was revealed that the exhibition space has increased by 60% compared to last year, in order to accommodate the increased demand from participating companies, after the great success achieved in the last edition in terms of exclusive investment deals and the high value of sales and transactions. In its new edition, the exhibition is expected to witness a large and unparalleled turnout of visitors, compared to the great numbers of visitors witnessed during its previous editions.
Furthermore, the committee also added that each edition of the exhibition is committed to present a diverse set of programs & activities including forums, panel discussions, workshops, and specialized industry talks in both Arabic and English, presented by key industry experts and market leaders discussing the industry and its future prospects, in addition to drawing valuable prizes.
The exhibition is officially sponsored by “Sharjah Department of Town Planning and Survey”, “Sharjah Economic Development Department”, “Sharjah City Municipality”, and “Sharjah Housing Department”, in addition to media sponsorship from “Sharjah Broadcasting and Television Authority”, “The Financial World Magazine”, and academic sponsorship from “Innovation Experts Real Estate Institute” and “Thinkprop Real Estate Institute”, in addition to advertising sponsorship from “Site Global” and support from the host “Expo Centre Sharjah”.
Al Shamsi: A unique session
His Excellency Abdulaziz Ahmed Al-Shamsi, Director General of Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department, said during his speech: “The exhibition this year is being held at a time when the emirate is witnessing the launch of various commercial, industrial, and residential projects, which reflects the continuous growth of the real estate sector in Sharjah”. His Excellency added: “The emirate is attracting investments and capital, and hence, the population is increasing, which in turn increased the demand for residential real estate. Such demand was met and enhanced by Sharjah Executive Council Resolution No. (30) issued in November 2022, which allowed all nationalities to own real estate of all kinds without limitation of time in real estate development areas and projects, after getting the approval”. In this context, Al-Shamsi pointed out: “Such wise decisions by Sharjah’s Executive Council are very important, add to them the exclusive discount of buying and selling fees on real estate transactions during the show days at “ACRES 2024””, saying that it “joins a series of precedent decisions supporting the real estate sector”, and stressing that “these decisions represent a strong impetus and an important step to support the real estate sector and provide it with more sustainable growth factors”.
Al-Awadhi: Additional impetus for the real estate sector
His Excellency Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al-Awadhi, Director General of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), stated that “The exhibition confirms Sharjah’s remarkable development and growth, thanks to the continued support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and the keen follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of Sharjah Executive Council, in addition to the determined efforts made by Sharjah government to support the real estate sector”. His Excellency added: “The real estate sector constitutes one of the pillars of the economic diversification strategy in the emirate, as Sharjah is characterized by a wide urban renaissance that has strengthened its position as a leading global destination”. Al-Awadhi concluded his statement saying: “(SCCI) is keen to continue organizing this event and enabling it to achieve its goals, in terms of contributing to giving additional impetus to the real estate sector, increasing its activity, and highlighting the many investment opportunities in this sector”.
Al-Mahmoud: Supporting economic growth in Sharjah
For his part, His Excellency Hamad Ali Abdullah Al-Mahmoud, Chairman of Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD), confirmed that “the Department’s participation in the exhibition comes within the framework of its keenness to support economic growth in Sharjah, by introducing participants and investors to the services and facilities that the Department provides to the real estate sector, especially since this event brings together decision makers, leading institutions, important investors, in addition to construction and real estate development companies, under one roof”. His Excellency added that “what distinguishes the exhibition in its current session is the presentation of the most prominent real estate projects in the emirate, with the possibility of concluding sales agreements on site, in light of the participation of relevant government agencies”.
Al-Muhairi: Exchange of experiences
His Excellency Engineer Khalid bin Butti Obaid Al-Muhairi, Head of the Housing Department and a member of the Executive Council of Sharjah, said, “We are pleased that the Housing Department is an official sponsor of “ACRES 2024”. This important event is a distinguished platform that brings together the most important regional and global experts and specialists in real estate affairs, and provides a unique opportunity to meet, interact, and exchange experiences between many entities, institutions, and development and investment companies”. His Excellency Salem Ali Hamad Al-Ghaithi, Director of Sharjah Broadcasting Authority (SBA), said, “We are proud and pleased that the Authority is one of the sponsors of the exhibition, which constitutes an important platform for displaying developments and innovations in the real estate and urban development sector in Sharjah and in the country”. For his part, His Excellency Saeed Ghanem Al-Suwaidi, Chairman of the Representative Committee of the Real Estate Sector Business Group at (SCCI), and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of “ACRES”, stressed: “The organizing committee is keen to present a distinctive and innovative session, which succeeds in attracting the most important companies in the field of real estate, investment and construction, and real estate development, which enhances the exhibition’s position as an annual platform that brings together the most important figures in the real estate sector”. Al-Suwaidi explained that the exhibition, “in this year’s unique session, witnesses the participation of a large number of exhibitors and real estate development companies, as hundreds of new real estate projects from inside and outside the country will be displayed, providing competitive and exclusive real estate offers during its four days, which is a great opportunity for local, Arab, and foreign investors and businessmen alike.”
Al-Ketbi: Supporting workers in the real estate sector
His Excellency Engineer Hamidi Al-Ketbi, Director of the Building Permits Department at Sharjah Department of Town Planning and Survey, indicated that “the Department’s participation in the exhibition stems from its ambitious plans to support workers and investors in the real estate sector, in line with the vision and directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, may God protect, which aim to achieve sustainable development in all areas of work in Sharjah”. His Excellency added that “the exhibition is one of the most important events for the development and revitalization of the real estate sector in Sharjah”.
Al-Amiri: A platform that displays investment opportunities
His Excellency Eng. Ahmed Hussain Al-Amiri, General Manager of Asas Real Estate, confirmed “the Company’s keenness to participate in the exhibition, based on the belief of the Board of Directors in “ACRES” position as one of the most important real estate exhibitions in the region, making it an exceptional annual platform which showcases the most important investment opportunities in this vital sector, and provides the latest developments regarding modern and advanced real estate projects”.
Sharjah Municipality: Sharjah has established its global position in the real estate field
For its part, the Sharjah City Municipality said that “Thanks to the visions, directives, and support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, may God protect him, the emirate has established its global position in the real estate field, and has achieved distinct qualitative leaps in urban growth and development. Additionally, it has been an ideal environment for the success of various projects, in light of the facilities and incentives it provides to investors.” The municipality stated that “the exhibition is an important platform of promoting real estate in the UAE in general, and in Sharjah in particular, as the emirate is considered a great destination for investment and purchase of real estate for housing and stability, due to increasing modern and contemporary residential complexes that provide an ideal environment for rest, tranquility, and relaxation, in addition to the non-stop spreading of shopping centers and entertainment destinations.”
