Sharjah Chamber rolls out strategic business leadership programme for government directors

The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), represented by the Sharjah Training and Development Centre (STDC), has announced the launch of a strategic business leadership programme titled “Begin your Successful Leadership Journey”.

The programme, organised by the Chamber in cooperation with the Spain-based University of Salamanca, aims to strengthen participants’ capacities to analyse data, present innovative solutions, and draft strategic plans for developing work systems and generating competitive advantage within governmental institutions and bodies.

The programme targets department and branch directors and their deputies, department heads, and those nominated by government entities. Over the course of three months, a certified expert in business and strategy development will present several themes, most notably, how to design innovative strategies, mechanisms of business economic analysis, AI in strategic leadership, business psychology, and strategic management of financial resources.

Maryam Saif Al Shamsi, Assistant Director-General for the Support Services Sector at the Sharjah Chamber, said the SCCI launched the programme as a part of its commitment to participating in the human resources development of government and private-sector institutions and agencies.

Through the Sharjah Training and Development Centre, the Chamber is also working to spread a culture of institutional quality by applying the best scientific and operational practices as it develops human resources and offers training programmes and courses tailored to suit institutions from different sectors.

It accomplishes this in coordination with major global and national academic entities, to scout out talented leaders and equip them according to institutional standards and values, while developing the skills of employees across the board to boost occupational competence.

Amal Abdullah Al Ali, STDC Director, said the programme aims to empower participants in building strategies, understanding personal behaviours and professional abilities, and influencing the behaviours of others. It also seeks to help them evaluate their work environments, come up with solutions for future challenges, and learn about the strengths and creative qualities that support career advancement, as well as develop working methods and programmes and innovate new business models.

The programme is set to feature several lectures and workshops, while focusing on applied study, psychological analysis, and case study analysis. In addition, participants will have the chance to join a number of field visits to Spanish institutions to investigate their work approaches and their use of modern technologies to boost productivity.
