Sunday, September 03, 2023 – The governments of the UAE and Brazil have announced a groundbreaking partnership focused on exchanging knowledge and expertise in the field of economics. This initiative, part of the Government Experience Exchange Programme, aims to strengthen cooperation and foster collaboration in areas such as modernization, development, and government practices.
During a visit to the UAE, a delegation led by Alexandre Cordeiro Macedo, President of the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) of Brazil, was introduced to the innovative business models implemented by the UAE government across various sectors. The visit included an intensive workshop held at the Ministry of Economy’s headquarters in Dubai, where key experiences and expertise from both countries were shared and discussed. Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy, also participated in the workshop.
Minister bin Touq emphasized the strong bilateral relations between the UAE and Brazil, highlighting the commitment of both countries to enhance readiness and adopt advanced methods in government operations. The UAE’s vision for the future is to be the best place to live and work, and to establish itself as a leading hub for forward-thinking government decisions.
Bin Touq stated, “This partnership will allow the UAE and Brazil to learn from each other’s best practices and government expertise, while also exploring investment opportunities for businesses from both countries. It aims to drive significant growth in economic and trade cooperation between our nations and facilitate knowledge exchange on government actions and sustainable economic development.”
Abdulla Nasser Lootah, Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Competitiveness and Knowledge Exchange, highlighted the significance of this partnership as a new model within the Government Experience Exchange Programme. Since its establishment in 2018, the program has focused on building partnerships to enhance knowledge exchange and share experiences in government modernization. This new collaboration opens avenues to expand the program’s scope to include vital sectors that impact societies and future generations.
Lootah emphasized the UAE government’s commitment to establishing partnerships with governments worldwide, noting that Brazil, as a major player in the global economy, holds a crucial role in several promising economic fields.
Alexandre Cordeiro Macedo, President of CADE, expressed the Brazilian government’s keenness to strengthen bilateral relations with the UAE government. Both nations share a common objective of expanding partnership areas to develop business frameworks and models across various sectors.
Macedo stated, “The visit by CADE’s delegation marks a milestone in the development of competition policy and the promotion of international cooperation between Brazil and the UAE.”
During the visit, the Brazilian delegation met with various entities within the UAE government to learn about their experiences, best practices, and knowledge in government services, performance excellence, and government accelerators. They also engaged with the World Government Summit (WGS)
