The United Arab Emirates has conducted its first meeting with Eurojust, the European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation, in the presence of Ladislav Hamran, President of Eurojust, and several senior officials from Eurojust, as well as Abdulrahman Murad Al Blooshi, Undersecretary of the International Cooperation and Legal Affairs Sector at the Ministry of Justice, and Mohamed Al Sahlawi, UAE Ambassador to the European Union, Belgium, and Luxembourg.

The meeting explored several topics of mutual interest, including efforts to combat transnational organized crime, effective approaches for advancing international justice, and fostering legal collaboration.

Al Blooshi stated, “The meeting aims to strengthen cooperation between the UAE and the European Union and reflects the UAE’s commitment to addressing critical transnational issues that require a robust judicial response.”

For his part, Al Sahlawi highlighted the UAE’s commitment to multilateralism and adherence to international law to address ongoing global challenges, including an increased incidence of transnational crime.

He emphasised that the UAE reaffirms the importance of cooperating with all partners, including the European Union, its member states, and several relevant agencies, to achieve international justice, and strengthen the integrity of the international judicial systems.
