The committee responsible for monitoring fuel prices has approved an increase in fuel prices for September 2023. The price hike will range from 28 to 29 fils per liter for gasoline and 45 fils per liter for diesel compared to the prices in August 2023.
Fuel distribution companies have announced the new prices, which will be implemented starting from tomorrow, Friday, September 1, 2023. The new pricing includes a 5% value-added tax.
The price of a liter of super gasoline “98” will rise by 28 fils, going from 3.14 dirhams in August to 3.42 dirhams in September. The price of a liter of regular gasoline “95” will increase by 29 fils, from 3.02 dirhams in August to 3.31 dirhams in September.
Similarly, the price of a liter of “E Plus” gasoline “91” will also go up by 28 fils, from 2.95 dirhams in August to 3.23 dirhams in September.
Diesel prices will experience a rise of 45 fils per liter, increasing from 2.95 dirhams in August to 3.40 dirhams in September.
In June 2023, the committee had approved a reduction in fuel prices by 21 fils for gasoline and 23 fils for diesel per liter compared to May’s prices. Additionally, in April, there was a decrease ranging from 7 to 8 fils for gasoline and 11 fils for diesel per liter compared to March 2023’s prices.
The Ministry of Energy determines the fuel pricing criteria on a monthly basis, considering the average global oil prices and incorporating the operating costs of distribution companies. These prices may fluctuate based on changes in oil prices and other relevant factors.
