In advance of the 52nd UAE Union Day celebrations, Umm Al Qaiwain authorities have introduced a 50% reduction on traffic fines incurred within the emirate. This initiative, implemented by the Umm Al Qaiwain Police General Command, extends the discount to all types of traffic violations committed in the emirate prior to November 1, 2023.
The concession encompasses all violations, except for severe offenses, and is valid from December 1, 2023, to January 7, 2024.
The initiative seeks to foster adherence to traffic regulations and incentivise individuals to settle outstanding fines during the designated period.
The Umm Al Qaiwain Police General Command said that certain severe traffic violations are excluded from the recent 50% discount on traffic fines. These violations include driving a vehicle in a manner that endangers the driver or others; driving a vehicle in a way that could damage public or private property; running a red light (regardless of vehicle type); exceeding the speed limit by more than 80 kilometers per hour; and modifying the vehicle’s engine or chassis without a traffic permit.
