According to a report by the state news agency Wam on Thursday morning, the two ministers deliberated on the consequences of the unfolding humanitarian crisis. Sheikh Abdullah cautioned against the perils of further escalation of violence, highlighting its potential to jeopardize the security and stability of the region. He implored the international community to unite in eradicating extremism, violence, and the exacerbation of tensions, which he warned could have grave ramifications for the region and its inhabitants. The death toll resulting from days of intense fighting is nearing 2,500. An Israeli military spokesperson confirmed that the number of casualties in Israel has reached 1,200, with over 2,700 individuals wounded. Meanwhile, a representative from the Health Ministry in Gaza reported that the death toll in the Gaza Strip has risen to approximately 1,200 people. The UN Office for the Co-ordination of Humanitarian Affairs stated that more than 338,000 individuals have been displaced from their homes in the Gaza Strip. The call between the two foreign ministers coincided with President Sheikh Mohamed and his US counterpart, Joe Biden, reviewing crucial efforts to provide assistance to those affected by the conflict. The two leaders called for the maintenance of open safe corridors to facilitate the delivery of essential humanitarian aid, as reported by the state news agency Wam. Sheikh Mohamed and Mr. Biden urged the international community to unite in advocating for restraint and an immediate de-escalation of the ongoing violence.
