Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work (SAVW) welcomes the holy month of Ramadan with a series of religious and cultural programmes. The efforts come within the framework of the Award’s keenness to enhance the values of volunteer work and encourage community participation.
The programmes organised by SAVW include 4 religious lectures remotely, which address religious and educational topics, with the aim of enhancing religious and cultural awareness among members of society. The programmes also include holding a Ramadan council for men and another for women, organised directly in the suburban councils in Sharjah, with the aim of enhancing communication with participants and provide awareness and educational content.

SAVW Ramadan programme includes the “so race to good” programme, which aims to enhance awareness and interaction with volunteer work in society, whereas this programme is an opportunity for participants to enhance their positive contribution to building society and serving others.

On the other hand, SAVW launches Ramadan competitions through its official account on the Instagram platform, where a new question is asked every week throughout the holy month of Ramadan. The competition questions vary between religious, cultural, historical, and general knwoledge questions.

SAVW programmes for the holy month of Ramadan also include the “Highest with Volunteer Hours” competition in cooperation with the Sharjah Centre for Volunteer Work. The competition aims to motivate volunteers who carry out the highest volunteer hours, during the holy month of Ramadan.

On this occasion, Fatima Musa Al Belushi, Executive Director of SAVW, stressed the importance of these programmes in promoting the values of volunteer work and community communication, noting that the vision of the award is based on enhancing the culture of giving and volunteering in Emirati society, adding that such occasions are among the best.

Al Belushi appreciated the efforts of the award’s partners for their continued support, stressing the importance of the cooperation of different institutions and entities in enhancing the award’s role in serving society and promoting the values of volunteerism and social participation during the holy month of Ramadan.

Al Belushi pointed out that SAVW continues its journey in serving society, by enhancing the religious and cultural spirit during the holy month of Ramadan, and it also affirms its permanent commitment to promoting the values of volunteer work and social communication.
