The Sharjah Sports Council has launched registration for the first edition of the “Sahara Run”, set to take place on Sunday, 4th August, at Sahara Centre.

The event aims to attract 300 participants of both genders. This activity is part of the community sports programmes during the summer, encouraging the practice of sports and offering enthusiasts, especially runners, the opportunity to participate in an indoor race at the mall.

The event is organised in collaboration with the mall management, Ability Sports Services Company, and several sponsoring and supporting entities, ensuring a conducive and motivating atmosphere.

Registration for the race is available via the link: https://www.hopasports.com/en/event/sahara-centre-indoor-run.

The event will feature indoor running on the mall’s ground floor, with three distance options: 8 km, 4 km, and 1 km for children. The distance for one lap is 1 km on the ground floor. The 1 km children’s race will start at 07:00, followed by the 4 km race 15 minutes later, and the 8 km race at 07:17.

On this occasion, Dr. Yasser Omar Al Doukhi, Head of the Department of Sports and Community Events, highlighted that this is the first time the event is being held at Sahara Centre. It targets various segments of the community, reaffirming the Sharjah Sports Council’s commitment to diverse locations for community sports events during holidays and the summer period.
