DEWA organises ‘Youth Forum’ in conjunction with International Youth Day 2024

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) ‘s Youth Council has organised the “Youth Forum” in conjunction with International Youth Day 2024, observed annually on 12th August.

The forum, which was inaguared by Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, included a series of activities and panel discussions with young employees, and local and corporate youth councils, including the Dubai Youth Council, the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority Youth Council, the Community Development Authority Youth Council, and the Du Youth Council.

Al Tayer said, “On the International Youth Day, we celebrate the UAE and Dubai’s pioneering efforts in empowering youth and enhancing their participation in advanced and promising sectors. Today, we reaffirm our unwavering belief in our youth, who, as described by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, are our national treasure, the best investment in the future, and the drivers for positive change towards a brighter and more sustainable world.”

He emphasised DEWA’s commitment to developing the capabilities of the next generation of expert youths to create sustainable solutions that address climate change and anticipate the future.

Al Tayer explained that the total workforce at DEWA includes 2,831 young employees aged between 18 and 35 years. There are 2,062 young male and female Emirati employees.

He urged young people to take advantage of DEWA’s various programmes to refine their skills in sustainability and clean and renewable energy.
