UAE scoops 9 medals during 2024 IFMA Youth World Championships

The UAE National Youth Muay Thai Team won nine medals during its participation in the 2024 IFMA Youth World Championships, which concluded in Bangkok on Friday. The event saw the participation of 3,000 athletes from 92 countries, organised under the supervision of the International Federation of Muay Thai Associations (IFMA).

The UAE national team secured one gold medal, one silver medal, and seven bronze medals. The team’s athletes showcased strong performances from the round of 32 through to the round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals, and finals, where Aziz Al Hammadi was crowned champion with a gold medal in the 12-13 age category, 48kg weight class.

Ahmed Abu Geish won a silver medal in the 12-13 age category, 63kg weight class. Meanwhile, the bronze medals were earned by Rakan Ahmed, Saeed Al Mazrouei, Saeed Ahmed, Mariam Al Suwaidi, Jasser Ahmed, and Khaled Suleiman. Additionally, the duo Ahmed Abu Jeish and Mohammed Karim claimed bronze in the Muay May competition in the 14-15 age category.

Abdullah Saeed Al Neyadi, President of the Asian and Arab Muay Thai Federation and Chairman of the UAE Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation, expressed his pride in the new achievements of the UAE national youth team in the IFMA Youth World Championships.
