Abu Dhabi City Municipality Launches Waste Cleanup Campaign on ‘Al Alia, Al Lulu, and Al Zabara’ Islands

Abu Dhabi City Municipality, in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Waste Management (Tadweer), conducted a comprehensive campaign to address waste, litter, and distortions on several islands, with the initial phase focusing on ‘Al Alia, Al Lulu, and Al Zabara’ Islands.

The waste cleanup campaign is part of an ongoing effort throughout the year to preserve the natural beauty of the islands and their beaches while promoting a healthy and clean environment.

Prior to the campaign, the Control and Inspection Management at the City Municipality Centre conducted field inspections to identify and document any distortions that affected the aesthetic appeal of the islands. This information was used to plan the removal process, ensuring safe methods were employed in collaboration with Tadweer. The collected waste from the campaign was then appropriately disposed of in accordance with environmental standards.

As part of this initiative, the Municipality calls upon all segments of society to embrace their societal responsibility towards environmental conservation. It encourages the adoption of appropriate methods and practices that align with sustainable and environmentally sound principles.
