The Lotus Eletre, the highly anticipated all-electric hyper-SUV from the British brand, has made its debut in the Middle East. The unveiling took place at a gala event in Dubai, where the covers were removed from the bright yellow vehicle (although other colors are also available). While phrases like “blink and you’ll miss it” are often used to describe fast cars, this description is particularly fitting for the Eletre. With a 0-100kph acceleration time of under three seconds, it falls into the same category as the lightweight vehicles commonly seen on Formula One circuits. The Eletre also boasts an impressive range of up to 600km on a single charge, although this may be slightly reduced when driving at top speeds of 260kph. Lotus is renowned for its agile offerings, including the Evija hypercar, the Exige, and the Esprit. The Eletre is no exception, designed to handle like a sports car. Inside, the car features a futuristic design, with stitched leather and high-density wool fabrics adorning the seats, and a microfiber dashboard adding to the sleek aesthetic. The Eletre also comes equipped with Lotus’s Hyper OS infotainment system and a range of other technical features. Lotus plans to release a whole new range of pure electric vehicles in the future, with the Eletre being the first of its kind. The car is available for order in the UAE through Adamas Motor Group, with a price tag of Dh480,000 ($130,000). While this may seem steep, it is important to consider that the Eletre is being billed as the world’s first hyper-SUV, placing its price into a more realistic perspective. Customers can expect delivery of their Eletre by the middle of next year.
