His Excellency Jamal Salem Al Tarifi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al Qasimia University (AQU) and President of the University, chaired the twelfth regular meeting of the Board of Trustees for the academic year 2023-2024, held at the university’s headquarters in Sharjah, during which the graduation of the seventh batch of university students was approved and the strategic performance indicators and their targets for the next stage were reviewed.
The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al Qasimia University extended his deepest thanks and gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for his unlimited and continuous support for AQU from its inception until now, which resulted in renewing its institutional license from the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) at the Ministry of Education for the next five years until 2029. This measure reflects the permanent commitment to providing high-quality education, and contributes to strengthening AQU role as a beacon of excellence in higher education and scientific research, founded on the Holy Quran and the Arabic language, and guided by the foundations, principles and teachings of tolerant Islam that is open to the whole world.
The Council approved the graduation of the seventh batch of university students who completed the graduation requirements for different bachelor’s programmes in AQU five colleges. The number of nationalities of students registered at Al Qasimia University has reached 123 nationalities since its inception.
Professor Dr. Awad Al Khalaf presented a detailed report on the university’s achievements during the current academic year 2023-2024, at the level of institutional governance, education, scientific research and community service; the conclusion of a number of memoranda of understanding with a number of national and international institutions; and initiatives and activities that enhance the quality of education and contribute to developing the university’s infrastructure.
The Council discussed a number of topics concerned with developing educational, academic and administrative aspects; reports of the committees emanating from the Board of Trustees in academic, administrative and financial matters and attracting students; in addition to the university’s future initiatives that aim to empower youth and support national competencies and talents.
