Kuwait Implements Electronic Traffic Fine System via Mobile App

Starting from September 1, traffic fines in Kuwait will be issued electronically through a mobile application, according to an announcement by the Ministry of Interior. The decision, made under the directives of the Minister of Interior, aims to promote transparency, deter reckless driving, and efficiently regulate traffic. Motorists were informed about this change through a post shared on the X platform (formerly known as Twitter).

The new system will promptly communicate violations and fines to offenders via the “Sahl” application. By embracing digital transformation, the Ministry of Interior launched the “Rased” application for police and traffic officers as a first step. This initiative, directed by Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, intends to streamline the process of issuing traffic violations by transitioning from paper to digital format. When a traffic officer records a violation, it will be immediately delivered to the offender through a notification on a user-friendly application.

Additionally, the ministry stated that drivers can inquire about their traffic violations through the unified government application for electronic services, “Sahl,” or via the Ministry of Interior’s website. The authority urges both citizens and residents to adhere to traffic regulations and follow police instructions. This new electronic system is expected to enhance efficiency and promote a safer driving culture in Kuwait.
