Pink Caravan marks successful conclusion of ‘Pink October’ with 108 events at 103 venues nationwide
Friends of Cancer Patients (FoCP) has announced a triumphant conclusion of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, popularly known as 'Pink October.' Throughout October, Pink Caravan orchestrated 108 activities at 103 different venues across the UAE, engaging communities and offering vital support. These activities included free breast cancer screenings and awareness sessions. In total, an impressive 1,874 screenings were conducted throughout the month, reinforcing FoCP’s message of the importance of early detection in the fight against breast cancer.

UAE wins first prize in Technology Challenge for People of Determination
On Friday afternoon, the final round of the Global Information Technology Challenge for Youth of determination 2023 concluded at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC). The UAE team emerged as the first-place winner in the challenge focused on using information technology to enhance the lives of people of determination, known as "Creative IoT E." The awards ceremony honoured 36 individuals, 12 teams, and 5 special award winners. These competitions were held for the first time in the Middle East and North Africa region. The results were announced, and the winners were recognized in the six challenge categories after three days of intense competition.

UAE climate technology start-ups lead Mena and Turkey region in funding
From 2018 to 2022, climate technology start-ups in the Middle East, North Africa, and Turkey region received a total investment of $651 million, with UAE-based companies leading the way by attracting $401 million, or 62% of the total funding.
