Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) recently hosted an exciting Riders Sports Day, bringing together more than 100 delivery riders from renowned platforms such as Deliveroo, Careem, InstaShop, and Noon.
The event provided riders with an opportunity to engage in friendly competition across various sports, including basketball, football, padel, and cricket. It was designed to highlight the positive impact of physical activity on mental health and overall well-being.
Kawthar Kazim, Vice President of Business Support at DHCA, expressed, “DHCC’s Riders Sports Day is part of our Riders’ Corner initiative, which aims to unite riders and encourage activities that promote their health and well-being, while fostering values such as teamwork and unity. This sports event not only offered riders a well-deserved break but also demonstrated our commitment to enhancing the well-being of this crucial segment of Dubai’s workforce.”
Saad Hakim, a participating delivery rider, shared his experience, “The sports day was incredibly enjoyable. It was refreshing to try out different sports while having fun with colleagues and friends. Physical activity is essential for our well-being, so it was wonderful to be given this time to be active and energized.”
Riders’ Corner is a dedicated air-conditioned space located at Society within DHCC, offering Dubai’s riders a place to rest, access drinking water, and charge their phones. Since its launch last year, DHCC has collaborated with Careem, Deliveroo, Noon, and InstaShop to provide riders with health check-ups, ophthalmology screenings, and vitamin supplements delivered by DHCC’s business partners.
