The value of trade exchange between the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Greater Arab Free Trade Area (GAFTA) in Q1 2024 rose to JOD1.966 billion from 1.797 billion in Q1 2023.
Statistics published by the Jordanian news agency, Petra, showed that Jodran’s exports to GAFTA countries grew in the first quarter of this year, reaching JOD693 million, compared to JOD632 million last year, leading the list of the Kingdom’s trade partners and economic blocs with an increase of 9.7 percent.
The Kingdom’s imports from GAFTA countries also increased during Q1 2024, reaching JOD1.273 billion, compared to JOD1.165 billion, an increase of 9.3 percent.
The Greater Arab Free Trade Area is an economic alliance launched in 2005 between 18 Arab countries.
