Knight Omar Al Marzouqi wins the Grand Prix show jumping title at the Monte Falco Championship in Italy

Omar Abdulaziz Al Marzouqi, the rider of the UAE show jumping team, won the Grand Prix title in the four-star “Monte Falco” championship in Italy, which was held from May 8 to 12, with the participation of 47 male and female riders representing most countries of the world.

Al-Marzouqi, accompanied by the horse “Enjoy de la More,” excelled on hurdles that were designed at a height of 155 cm.

With this result, the team continues to achieve positive results in the Italian championships within its current camp in preparation for participation in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The preparation camp is being held in Italy with the support and follow-up of Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Women’s Sports Academy, President of the Abu Dhabi Club. For women, and Al Ain Ladies Club, owner and founder of Al Sheraa Stables.

The team is awaiting a final participation in the Five-Star Nations Cup from May 22 to 25 in the Italian capital, Rome.

In terms of other results in the tournament, the jockey Ali Hamad Al-Karbi achieved eighth place in the Grand Prix race, and the jockey Abdullah Al Marri achieved third place in the young horses race over obstacles reaching a height of 135 cm on the first day of the tournament, and he topped the young horses race on the second day at the same height. He won sixth place on the third and final day.

Al Marri also won second place in the speed race sponsored by Al Shiraa Stables on the second day of the tournament over obstacles reaching a height of 140 cm, and fifth place in the qualifying race for the Grand Prix over hurdles reaching a height of 150 cm.

Jockey Salem Al Suwaidi won fourth place in the “Middle Prize” on the third day over obstacles that reached a height of 140 cm. Omar Abdulaziz Al Marzouqi also achieved tenth place, and Salem Al Suwaidi took eleventh place on the last day of the speed race over obstacles that reached a height of 145 cm.
