Saudi Arabia launches self-driving air taxi trial for first time during Hajj

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia today launched the self-driving air taxi trial at the holy sites.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Minister of Transport and Logistics Services and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority of Civil Aviation Saleh Al-Jasser launched the trial, which is the world’s first air taxi to be licenced by a civil aviation authority.

The air taxi services entail transporting pilgrims between the holy sites, facilitating emergency travel, transporting medical equipment, and providing logistical services for transporting goods.
