SCC’s committee reviews SCTDA’s agenda

The Financial, Economic, and Industrial Affairs Committee of the Sharjah Consultative Council discussed commercial and tourism activities and events in Sharjah and the efforts made for these sectors to thrive, during its visit on Monday morning to the Sharjah Tourism and Commerce Development Authority, at its headquarters.
The visit was part of the council’s preparations to discuss the SCTDA policy during February’s session, which will be held at the end of the month.

The council’s delegation was headed by Rashid Abdullah bin Huwaiden, Chairman of the Committee.

Khalid Jassim Al Midfa, member of the Sharjah Executive Council, Chairman of the Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, and Sheikh Salem bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Director of the Authority, received the guests.

Al Midfa briefed the delegation on the various efforts of the authority and its tourism-promoting programmes to increase, making the emirate a tourist attraction.

All of the Authority’s services and statistics during the past year were reviewed compared and the extent of the tourism sector’s contribution to the gross domestic product (GDP) of Sharjah, in addition to highlighting the importance of tourism projects that characterise the emirate and the services it provides to attract tourism.
