Sharjah Chamber hosts Building Materials Forum, emphasises its support for construction sector

The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) hosted the Building Materials Forum, gathering key stakeholders and top professionals, including property suppliers, traders, consultants, contractors, and real estate developers.

Held in collaboration with SCCI’s Real Estates Sector Business Group, the forum aimed to explore promising opportunities in the construction sector, review the outcomes of the Sharjah Real Estate Exhibition (ACRES), and discuss preparations for the upcoming edition.

The Building Materials Forum, held at SCCI’s headquarters, was attended by Abdul Aziz Al Shamsi, Assistant Director-General for Communication and Business Sector at SCCI, and Saeed Ghanem Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Representative Committee of the Real Estate Sector Business Group at the Sharjah Chamber, along with several committee members.

During the forum, participants outlined the latest trends and developments in the construction sector and explored growth prospects and advancements driving the industry forward. They also discussed the role of ACRES in supporting this vital sector.

In his opening remarks at the forum, Abdul Aziz Al Shamsi emphasised Sharjah Chamber’s commitment to providing a platform for networking, communication and knowledge exchange among property and real estate traders and investors, which significantly contributes to overall economic growth.

He pointed out that the Sharjah Chamber has adopted a strategic vision to support and develop the construction and building material sector, which serves as a fundamental pillar in driving economic development, advancing infrastructure and construction projects, and contributing to the emirate’s broader development goals.

For his part, Saeed Ghanem Al Suwaidi highlighted the substantial commercial value of the building materials sector, underscoring its critical link to multiple economic aspects. He noted that many of Sharjah’s development projects, from infrastructure enhancements to large-scale real estate, rely heavily on this sector.

The forum concluded with one-on-one meetings between participants to explore partnerships and discuss investment and collaboration opportunities.

During these meetings, attendees emphasised the critical role of such initiatives in fostering collaboration among suppliers, traders, contractors, and other key players in the building materials sector. These efforts help strengthen the emirate’s position as a leading destination for real estate investment.
