The Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation (SSEF) represented the Emirate of Sharjah at the United Nations’ Summit of the Future in New York.
The four-day event featured seminars, high-level discussions, and participation from international officials, youth representatives, civil society, academia, and local authorities.
The recently concluded summit aimed to develop actionable plans for a safe, equitable, and sustainable future for youth and to address global challenges collaboratively.
SSEF’s delegation participated in discussions focused on empowering youth to be active participants in shaping the future, emphasising the crucial role of young orphans within their families and communities.
Mona bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, Director-General of SSEF, highlighted the importance of fostering international cooperation and developing strategies to empower youth in leadership roles. She noted, “This summit facilitates crucial discussions and fosters international cooperation, inspiring a collective vision for vital issues.”
The Foundation also showcased its innovative humanitarian projects aimed at supporting orphans within their families. Al Suwaidi stated, “We strive to listen to their needs and provide the best care, guiding their energies positively.”
SSEF has implemented programmes addressing psychological and social aspects, continuously evolving to meet the goals of empowering orphaned children and supporting their guardians.
The summit yielded several key recommendations, including investing in youth, enhancing education, and increasing vocational training opportunities.
Participants stressed the importance of collaboration, data collection, gender equality, digital cooperation, and effective partnerships in humanitarian efforts to safeguard future generations against global challenges.
