His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah has unveiled a new, cutting-edge plan to upgrade Kalba’s road system. While he was a guest on Tuesday’s “Direct Line” show on Sharjah Radio and Television.
The plan, which His Highness emphasised, extends from the Clock Tower along the Al Wihda Road northward to the other side of the castle, encompassing Sheikh Saeed bin Hamad Street, its associated roads, and connections to the ring road.
Governmental agencies are carrying out ongoing research and planning activities for the city, as His Highness also highlighted.
Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah also announced the launch of Kalba University’s (KU) Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education and Sports Sciences.
This groundbreaking initiative, in partnership with Australian universities, is second to none. His Highness elaborated that the latest agreement with the Australian side was signed yesterday to bring a comprehensive curriculum to this newly established faculty, which has been approved by the UAE Ministry of Education.
The Ruler of Sharjah, His Highness, made the announcement that interested male and female students can enrol in this innovative curriculum at Kalba University beginning with the current semester.
He praised the integrated infrastructure, which includes programmes, professors, and equipment, and mentioned that the university presently consists of four faculties.
Scholarships are available to deserving students, and His Highness has also mentioned the prospect of new curricula tailored to local needs.
His Highness addressed an assertion that he had remarked, “We grant the key of the house with the dowry.” To clarify, he said, “We provide a sum of DH 25,000 as a dowry for anyone whose salary is less than this amount.” For furnishings, we also provide DH 25,000.
However, getting married and starting a family shouldn’t break your bank account. Don’t go overboard, and don’t put yourself in debt.
He lauded the Sharjah housing project for its focus on stability and security, saying, “The home is the foundation of forming a family.”
His Highness revealed that there is a list of 5,000 applications for the Sharjah housing project that require evaluation.
He announced that the project would be implemented and completed within three years. His Highness stated that the yearly capacity for implementation is 1,500 requests, 1,000 of which are in Sharjah alone.
His Highness emphasised that these homes are available to people with a monthly salary of less than DH 25,000. His Highness added, “However, if someone’s salary exceeds 25,000 by two hundred dirhams or slightly more, they are still included in the decision-making process, as mercy takes precedence over the law.”
He stated that the COVID-19 pandemic created a delay in this endeavour, which resulted in a buildup of applications. His Highness declared the availability of 700 housing loan applications, urging optimal spending of loan and grant funds while constructing housing and avoiding excess and waste in marginal matters.
His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, also announced during his remarks that the emirate will be employing three thousand individuals before the end of 2023.
This will be accomplished by collaborating with different government agencies and entities in the emirate that are undertaking studies and surveys in this subject, and by filling open positions in new entities.
According to His Highness, 2400 people applied to the Human Resources department last year, and all of them had jobs by November. By yesterday, the number of persons appointed had risen to 2,700.
We anticipate hiring three thousand citizens by the beginning of 2024, at the latest, or by the end of this year.
His Highness went on to say, “We notice our society progressing to a level of advancement and excellence in terms of knowledge, ethics, devotion, and various other aspects.”
So, instead of saying, “You have memorised some things and forgotten others,” the community gets ingrained with admirable traits.
Parents, His Highness said, should not abandon their children at random but instead do what is right in raising them. According to him, “God willing, our society will be a virtuous, educated, and ethical society, and we strive for it to be so by the will of Allah.”
