The Stanford Social Innovation Review at Stanford University in the United States of America celebrated the “Digital School”, one of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s global initiatives, as part of a special edition of the best initiatives in the world in Achieving justice in the sectors of health, life, education and the environment, which represents a new international achievement that enhances the UAE’s leadership in providing innovative solutions to global challenges.
The Stanford Journal of Social Innovation chose the Digital School, the distinguished global initiative in the “education” sector, for its pioneering role in employing technology to remove barriers and provide an advanced digital learning experience to empower students in less fortunate regions around the world.
Dr. Walid Al Ali, Secretary General of the Digital School, confirmed that choosing the school to highlight its experience through the Stanford University Magazine platform, and publishing its success story in 5 international languages, enhances the significant and tangible impact of this Emirati initiative on future generations in various regions of the world, and its role in providing learning opportunities. Digital enables one to acquire knowledge and skills, and overcomes the challenges of geography and lack of access to educational resources.
Al Ali said that the platform introduced its readers around the world to the innovative model of the digital school, and the added value it constitutes in spreading education and ensuring fair access to its sources for the less fortunate groups in the world.
The Stanford University Platform for Social Innovation is a prestigious scientific magazine that reviews the most prominent innovative social initiatives that contribute to changing the world, and reviews initiatives that have a significant impact around the world, in the main development areas it covers in the sectors of education, health, environment, and life.
The selection of the digital school came as part of a file in which the global platform selects the best initiatives in the world in achieving justice in the sectors of health, life, education and the environment, as part of a global series published for the first time on its platforms speaking five international languages.
It published a file entitled “The Global Pursuit of Equity” within its global network in Arabic, Chinese, Spanish, Portuguese and English.
The Digital School article was published in the Arabic version of the platform, entitled “Digital School: An Emirati initiative to provide high-quality education for students in the region.” The topic was also published in the rest of the languages supported on the platform in the English, Brazilian, Spanish and Chinese versions.
It is worth noting that the “Digital School”, which was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, “may God protect him”, in November 2020 within the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation, is the first integrated digital school. It is one of its kind, and aims to empower students with digital learning options in areas where the appropriate conditions or components that students need to continue their education are not available. It also provides a qualitative option for blended and distance learning.
The school continues to expand, as it has included more than 160,000 beneficiary students and provides its services in more than 13 countries. It has also trained more than 2,500 digital teachers, while educational and training content is provided in several languages, including Arabic, English, French, and Spanish.
